And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”

That God will bring you closer to Him and to each other as each day passes, as James 4:8 says: “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

That God will bring comfort and peace to you both in your times of trial, as Isaiah 26:3 tells us: “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

That the Lord would lend His guidance and strength to you in times of difficulty, as Ephesians 6:13-14 promises: “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then.”

That God will protect and bless your new life together, as Psalm 5:11-12 states: “But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.”

And that throughout your marriage, the Lord may grant you many more loves and blessings, as Ephesians 3:17-19 says: “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
